Each year, the Liliane Bettencourt Prize for Life Sciences awards a researcher under the age of 45 for his or her outstanding contribution to his or her field of scientific research.

Depending on the year, the prize is awarded to a researcher working in France or in another European country. Thirty researchers were awarded since 1997. From 2023 on, the laureate personally receives 100,000 euros.

Call for applications

The 2025 edition of the prize will be awarded to a European researcher working in France. The call for nominations from leading scientists selected by the Foundation will be open between January 6 and February 28, 2025. Nominated candidates will be invited to submit their applications between March 3 and April 21, 2025.
