The Foundation is committed to handling data responsibly, fairly and transparently. Only strictly necessary data is collected and processed according to the principles of data protection by design and by default. On the collection forms, the Foundation specifies which data is essential for processing and which is optional. The Foundation takes the appropriate organizational and technical steps to ensure that your data remains safe and confidential.
The present policy allows the Foundation to send you information on the various types of processing. It may change depending on the Foundation's activities and regulations in force. If it is modified or updated, the revised policy will be posted on the website with the last date of update. Please consult it regularly.

When contacting the Foundation
When you contact the Foundation, in particular via the contact form available on the website or social media, the Foundation's teams process your data (name and e-mail address and any other necessary information) to answer your request. Your consent is required to process the data, which is kept for 5 years. In some cases, your contact details may be integrated into the Foundation's contact management tools to allow and facilitate future exchanges.
When subscribing to the newsletter
To receive information and news from the Foundation, you can subscribe to the newsletter and send us your title, surname, first name and e-mail address. The data will be kept for the duration of your registration.You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of each email.
When creating an account/applying for an award
To apply for an award, you must create an account and fill in an application with the personal data necessary for the selection and follow-up of the application (depending on the award, name, first name, phone number, address, nationality, image and voice, diplomas, etc.). The processing is based on the exercise of pre-contractual measures. Incomplete applications are deleted 12 months after the account is opened, at the latest. The same goes for personal data collected from applications that are not ultimately selected.
If you win an award
If your application is selected, some of your personal data is processed as part of of the performance of a contract formalized by a funding agreement that sets out how your award is granted and how the Foundation provides support for selected and winning applicants. The Foundation will keep a record of the winners’ identity because, as provided for in the regulations, they may not apply again.
If you are a Foundation partner/service provider
Within the framework of partnership and commercial relations, the Foundation is required to process the contact details of its partners/suppliers (surname, first name, email address, telephone, profession, etc.). Such processing is in the Foundation’s legitimate interest or for the execution of a contract signed between the parties. The data is kept in an active database for 5 years after the last contact or the end of the contract.
If you apply for a position
If you apply for a vacant Foundation position or send an unsolicited application, the data related to your application (surname, first name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, professional experience, etc.) is processed as part of the performance of pre-contractual measures.
If you are not selected, your data may be kept for a period of 2 years, with your consent, so that we may contact you again if your profile corresponds to a future position at the Foundation.
Should your application be successful, our HR team will guide and inform you throughout the hiring process, including the data necessary to draft your employment contract.

The Foundation will not sell, transfer or rent your data, either free of charge or for a fee, to third parties without your prior consent, unless it must do so for a legitimate reason (legal obligation, the fight against fraud or abuse, rights of the defense, etc.).
Access to personal data is strictly limited to the Foundation’s experts, employees or subcontractors authorized because of their positions/duties. All recipients are subject to confidentiality rules and must respect the Foundation's commitments as indicated above.
While the Foundation prefers to store and host data within the European Union (EU), the use of some of its tools may result in the transfer of data outside the EU, including to the United States. Where appropriate, the Foundation ensures that measures are in place (countries recognized as adequate, standard protection clauses, binding company rules, etc.) to ensure the highest possible level of data protection.

In case of legitimate doubt about the applicant’s identity, the Foundation may request proof of identity. This will be destroyed after the application is processed.

What is a cookie?
The CNIL defines cookies as "small files stored by a server on the user’s device (computer, phone, etc.) and associated with a web domain (i.e. in most cases with all the pages of the same website). The file is automatically returned on subsequent contacts with the same domain."
Cookies can have various purposes such as compiling statistics, memorizing the page display language and offering personalized resources.
What cookies does the Foundation use?
The Foundation has set up the Axeptio tool to collect your consent or refusal to track your user path on the website by cookies.
The Foundation uses Matomo to analyze traffic and use of its website (number of visits, number of pages viewed, frequency of return, etc.) as part of the legitimate interest for the operation and current administration of the website. The cookies are kept for a period of 13 months and, with the settings defined by the Foundation, have an exemption of consent by the CNIL.
The Foundation also offers you the possibility of depositing specific cookies, with your consent, in order to improve your browsing experience, for example when watching videos on YouTube or Dailymotion. These cookies and their characteristics are detailed in the window where you can select your preferences.
How can I express and modify my choices?
On your first visit to the Foundation's website, a window will appear allowing you to make your choices regarding the deposit of cookies. You can change your choices at any time by clicking on the button, represented by a blue bubble with a hand icon, at the bottom left of each page.
