Since 2001, ADSF-Agir pour la Santé des Femmes (Acting for Women's Health) has sought to improve the physical and mental health and the social situation of women in very precarious situations. The association was created by Dr. Bernard Guillon and eleven other humanitarian professionals.

Comprehensive healthcare for women in precarious situations

Rising numbers of women in France are falling into poverty and social exclusion. In a context where protecting and feeding themselves is the top priority, many women stop caring about their health.

That is why ADSF-Agir pour la Santé des Femmes works to improve the overall health of the most vulnerable women. Following World Health Organization guidelines, the association works to improve their physical and mental health and their social situation.

Acting in the field as close as possible to women

ADSF goes out to meet the most disadvantaged women on "frottis trucks", vehicles with equipment to screen them for cervical cancer in a safe, private setting.

Healthcare professionals and social workers offer women from the target sector medical or psychological interviews, assistance and a path towards healthcare. The association also offers them co-managed apartment-houses.

The foundation’s support

The Bettencourt Schueller Foundation supports the ADSF’s quality fieldwork. Its assistance aims to strengthen and amplify the association’s work. Few organizations are as familiar with the healthcare needs of vulnerable women. The foundation helps provide them with valuable, targeted assistance.
